California accepts CAPCE accredited courses and directly accepts all Prodigy credit classes.
California recertification requirements
In order to renew an EMT certification prior to expiration, you must submit proof of 24 hours of approved EMS continuing education (CE) taken within the past two years. In order to renew an Paramedic certification prior to expiration, you must submit proof of 48 hours of approved EMS continuing education (CE) taken within the past two years. The State of California does not certify, renew or reinstate EMT certifications. This is done by the local EMS agency and other authorized certifying entities.
