How NREMT recertification works
The National Registry recertifies EMS clinicians every two years through the National Continued Competency Program, the NCCP. Your continuing education is split across three components: a national component that makes up half your hours, a local or state component, and an individual component. The national component covers core clinical topics set by the Registry. The individual component is flexible, any approved education directly related to EMS patient care.
The local component varies
Some states and regions publish specific local requirements, and where they do, Prodigy builds those requirements directly into your training plan. Where no local topics are specified, those hours are flexible.
Hours by certification level
Recertification runs on a two-year cycle ending March 31.
