NREMT Retesting Remediation
Prodigy offers the training you need to retest your NREMT. This article will walk you through the steps to retest your NREMT after 3 failed attempts.
After three unsuccessful examination attempts, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic candidates must submit official documentation verifying the completion of a remedial training program. That remediation can include completion of the National Component of the NCCP model. This would require 8 hours for EMR, 20 hours for EMT, 25 hours for AEMT, and 30 hours for Paramedic. These hours will need to fit into specific categories.
Prodigy will create a training plan and walk you through all of the classes required for remediation.

Step 1: Add the remediation training plan.

If you haven't already, create and account on Prodigy. If you already have and account, log in. Head over to the Certifications tab and choose Add New Certification.
Choose NREMT Remediation from the dropdown
Certification Level: choose the level you are retesting.
State: your home state.
Certification Number: enter your candidate id
Issued Date: enter the date of your last failed exam.
Expiration Date: enter 1 year from your last failed exam.
Although some data is listed as optional, it is required in order to populate the training plan.

Step 2: Purchase your training.

Head over to the Bundle tab and choose your bundle. The $125 Recertification Bundle will cover all of the required training for your remediation plan.

Step 3: Complete training plan.

Your training plan will load all of the required training and track all completed training giving you a clear path to completion. Each category will list the total numbers of hours required along with classes which meet those requirements. Click on the class directly from the training plan to be brought to the class page, choose Take Class Now and complete the class. The NREMT allows for all class to be completed as distributive classes with no love requirements.

Step 4: Apply for a National Registry Examination

1. Complete training plan.

Go to nremt.org and create an account. Select “EMS Professional” for your account role. Once you create your account, log in with your username and password and finish your profile. If you already have an account, log in with your username and password.

If you need assistance with your username or password, click here: username and password recovery.

2. Create an application

From your “Candidate Dashboard” select, “Create a Certification Application.”

During the application process you will be asked to create either an “Express Application” or a “New Application.” If nothing has changed from your previous testing application, choose the option to create an “Express Application.” All the information from your previous application will be transferred to your new application.

3. Submitting a payment

You can pay your application fee from your “Certification Application Status.” It is recommended that you pay your application fee at the time you complete your online application. An Authorization to Test (ATT) letter will not be issued until payment has been received and all required verifications have been completed.

4. Monitor your application status

Monitor the progress of your application from your “Certification Application Status” in case additional actions are needed. Once the National Registry approves your application and your status is “Ready to Test,” you can view your ATT letter and contact Pearson Vue to schedule your exam.

Step 5: Submit your remedial training documentation.

Email support@prodigyems.com and request a letter with proof of completion. Submit your documentation to support@nremt.org along with your application confirmation ID number. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing.
